  CTI论坛(ctiforum)10月18日消息(记者 杨佳林):2010年10月14日 Convergys宣布,奥地利有220万用户的第三大手机服务营运公司Orange Austria开始使用Convergys的smart BSS解决方案,赶上欧盟截止期限。

The European Union (EU) recently imposed a regulation making it mandatory for telecommunications providers to have real-time control over the costs incurred by data roamers. The regulation mandated that these providers notify each of their subscribers through text messaging when the subscriber has reached a certain threshold of data-roaming charges on his or her monthly bill. To comply with this new “bill-shock avoidance” law, Orange Austria took advantage of Convergys Real-Time Convergent Charging Solution.
Orange Austria signed a license, services, support, and maintenance contract with Convergys and simultaneously upgraded its installation of Convergys Rating and Billing Manager to experience the full benefit of the Real-Time Convergent Charging solution.
“With the solution now live, Orange Austria is taking advantage of Convergys Smart BSS solutions to calculate the data usage of each of our subscribers,” said Orange Head of IT Peter Filka. “In addition to the real-time charging initiative, Orange Austria can now offer new services through trial offers, cross-service promotions, and service bundling.”
“This state-of-the-art Convergys solution enables Orange Austria to meet the requirements of the EU regulation by giving subscribers the ability to monitor their data-roaming charges and monthly usage in real time,” said Bob Lento, Convergys President, Information Management. “Convergys Real-Time Convergent Charging solution, as well as our Rating and Billing Manager, are also helping Orange Austria make real-time, targeted offers to its subscribers.”
